Snake Arms

Snake arms are done from the shoulders.  In order for Snake arms to look truly graceful and pretty, the shoulders must be rolled alternately up and down, either to the front or out to the sides. This lesson will focus on snake arms out to the sides.

As you lift your shoulder, allow your elbow to start to lift as well, followed by the wrist:

Start raising shoulder, followed by the elbow.

Start raising shoulder, followed by the elbow.

As the elbow moves up, the wrist begins its journey up as well.

Shoulder is up, Elbow continues up, followed by wrist

Shoulder is up, Elbow continues up, followed by wrist

As the elbow gets to the top of the rise, the shoulder should start to rotate down and the wrist should be coming up

Shoulder starts to roll down, the elbow reaches the top and starts down, wrist is coming up

Shoulder starts to roll down, the elbow reaches the top and starts down, wrist is coming up

As the starting shoulder is coming down the other shoulder should be starting up, bringing its elbow up as well.  Repeat with this side what you did with the other side.

Shoulders rotate, starting shoulder down-opposite shoulder up. As the starting elbow starts down, the opposite shoulder should be starting up

Shoulders rotate, starting shoulder down-opposite shoulder up. As the starting elbow starts down, the opposite shoulder should be starting up
