I have a background in Ballet, Tap, Gymnastics, Water Ballet and Belly Dance. My first experience with Belly Dance was back in 1979. At the age of 19, I didn’t know what an impact it would make on my life. Moving away and leaving behind my lessons…but not forgetting!
It wasn’t not until 2006 I was reintroduced to this form of dance. I studied under a woman named Yindi ..who has been belly dancing most her life over 50 yrs. She saw in me what I didn’t see in myself and pushed me into performing and later teaching.
In 2010 I became teacher after Yindi my teacher retired, leaving her students in my hands. It was a short lived experience, after 5 months Yindi came back missing the love of dance. I bowed and returned her …her class.
But at this point I got the taste of teaching …the experience of what it feel like to watch your garden bloom. In that same year I decided to go out on my own and bring it closer to my hometown (which after 20 years here it is) Manning, SC.
I would like women to experience what it feels like to be able to Belly Dance…yes it takes work! But after you get the basic steps down and you begin to move it feels like …….NEW LOVE!
